Ab Tak Chhappan 3 Will be Like Die Hard, Says Nana Patekar

Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who was seen in the 2004 thriller Ab Tak Chhappan and its sequel, says he will direct the film's third part and will spend "more money on it".

"I will direct the third part of Ab Tak Chhappan," said Mr Patekar, who had earlier directed Prahaar: The Final Attack starring Madhuri Dixit.

"It will be shot in France and Istanbul, most probably. We have decided the basic structure of the third part," he added.

He also shared that the third part would be costlier than the first two parts.

"It will be a good thriller, a Die Hard kind of a project. We will spend little more money on it," the actor-filmmaker said.

"Also some nice people (big actors) will be there in the third part," he added.

Ab Tak Chhappan 2, directed by Aejaz Gulab, is set to release on February 27. It also features Gul Panag, Ashutosh Rana and Vikram Gokhale.

Golden Kela Awards: Humshakals Leads Nominations

Filmmaker Sajid Khan's film Humshakals is leading the nominations at the 7th Annual Golden Kela Awards with five nominations, while Prabhu Deva's Action Jackson has bagged four nods.

The awards, which are the Indian version of the Hollywood-inspired Golden Raspberry Awards, will honour the worst Bollywood films that released in 2014.

Humshakals, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Bipasha Basu, Ram Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia and Esha Gupta in pivotal roles, has been nominated in the categories of Worst Film, Worst Director and Worst Actor, Most Atrocious Lyrics and for the Baawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke Award.

Action Jackson, starring Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha, has also received nods for Worst Film, Worst Director, Worst Actor and Worst Actress.

The other movies in the Worst Film category are Salman Khan's Kick, Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang and Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year.

Saif and Ajay are competing for the Worst Actor crown against Arjun Kapoor (Gunday), Salman Khan (Kick) and Rani Mukerji (Mardaani).

In the Worst Actress category, the contenders are Katrina Kaif (Bang Bang!), Sonam Kapoor (for all her movies in 2014), Tamannah Bhatia (Entertainment), Jacqueline Fernandes (Kick) and Sonakshi (Action Jackson, Lingaa and Holiday).

Vying for the Golden Kela for Worst director are Sajid Khan (Humshakals), Prabhu Deva (Action Jackson), Rohit Shetty (Singham Returns), Sajid Nadiadwala (Kick), Sohail Khan (Jai Ho) and Siddharth Anand (Bang Bang!).

2014's hit numbers like Sunny Sunny (Yaariyan), Yaar Na Miley (Kick), Baby Doll (Ragini MMS 2), Galliyan (Ek Villain) and Tu Meri (Bang Bang!) have received nods for Most Irritating Song.

The persons nominated in the Most Atrocious Lyrics category include, Sameer for Caller Tune (Humshakals), Shabbir Ahmed for Ice Cream (The Xpose), Yo Yo Honey Singh for Sunny Sunny (Yaariyan), Vishal Dadlani for Tu Meri (Bang Bang!) and Mayur Puri for Johnny Johnny (Entertainment).

The Worst Debutant category includes the likes of Tiger Shroff (Heropanti), The Xpose Girls (The Xpose), Mishti and Kartik Tiwari (Kaanchi), the whole cast and crew of Yaariyan and Daisy Shah (Jai Ho).

The contenders for the Baawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke Award are Raj and DK (Happy Ending), Abhishek Sharma (The Shaukeens), Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Kick), Ram Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan (Humshakals) and Shashanka Ghosh (Khoobsurat).

The Most Pointless Remake/Sequel category includes films like Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Ragini MMS 2, Singham Returns, Bang Bang!, Khoobsurat, The Shaukeens, Bhoothnath Returns and Hate Story 2.

Actors Sonam Kapoor, Jackie Bhagnani, Himesh Reshammiya, Subhash Ghai, Ayushman Khurana and Yami Gautam have been nominated for the Why Are You Still Trying Award.

The 7th Annual Golden Kela Awards ceremony will take place here at the India Habitat Centre on March 14.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Jazbaa May Have a Release Date

It seems like filmmaker Sanjay Gupta likes to keep the guessing game on. The director has hinted that his next action film Jazbaa, which marks actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's return to the silver screen after five years, will release on October 9. 

The film also features Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni, Chandan Roy Sanyal and John Abraham in a cameo, and Sanjay is gung-ho about the project.

My Name Is Khan Turns 5, Shah Rukh, Karan Johar Get Nostalgic

My Name Is Khan, a movie about an autistic man's journey to meet the US President to give one message - "My name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist" - clocked five years today. This made its lead actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Karan Johar nostalgic.

The movie brought one of Bollywood's hit pairs Shah Rukh and Kajol together. The Badshah of the silver screen Shah Rukh Khan also walked down memory lane and thanked the people associated with the film.

The film revolves around Rizwan Khan, a Muslim who suffers from a form of autism, and marries a Hindu girl and how their life changes after the 9/11 terrorist attack in the US.

First Look: Anushka Sharma as Bombay Velvet's Rosie

Actress Anushka Sharma looks deliciously retro in the first look of her character Rosie Noronha from Bombay Velvet. In a black and white photo posted on Twitter, Anushka wears a gossamer dress and clings to an old-fashioned microphone. Rosie Noronha is a jazz singer in the Mumbai of the Sixties.

Anushka's polished look couldn't be more different from her co-star Ranbir Kapoor's look which was also released on Twitter last week. Ranbir, who plays a cage fighter and also apparently a gangster of some sort named 'Big Shot' Johnny Balraj, looked far rougher in the first look of his character, wearing a grimy t-shirt and with dishevelled hair.

The first poster for the film was also released last week, and shows a gun-toting Ranbir in a pin-striped mobster-like suit.

Meanwhile, Anushka's Twitter handle still reads Jagat Janani - the name of her character from PK.

Bombay Velvet, directed by Anurag Kashyap, releases this May.

Queen Rules Filmfare Awards 2015, Kangana, Shahid Bag Top Honours

The Bollywood comic drama Queen swept the 60th Filmfare Awards yesterday, winning awards in as many as six categories, fetching Vikas Bahl the award for the Best Director and Kangana Ranaut the Best Actress honour.

The runner-up was Vishal Bhardwaj's tragic Shakespearean drama Haider which won awards in five categories - including Best Actor for Shahid Kapoor, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Tabu and Best Actor in Supporting role for Kay Kay Menon.

Rajat Kapoor's critically acclaimed film Ankhon Dekhi bagged the Best Film (Critics) prize. The award for the Best Male Actor (Critics) went to Sanjay Mishra for Ankhon Dekhi and the Best Female Actor (Critics) award was given to Alia Bhatt for her performance in Highway.

The romantic comedy 2 States and the comic drama PK also won awards in multiple categories. Surprsingly, Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year and Priyanka Chopra's Mary Kom did not win any awards.

Katrina Kaif Shoots For Fitoor in Kashmir

Fitoor, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations starring Rekha, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur, is the first Bollywood movie being shot in Kashmir after last year's devastating floods.

Fitoor is a love saga directed by Abhisek Kapoor who made Kai Po Che that did fairly well. The romantic film is about a love triangle involving a Kashmiri boy Noor (Aditya Roy), his lady love Firdous (Katrina Kaif) and the Begum (Rekha).

Fitoor's shooting started in the famous Nishat Garden on the banks of the Dal Lake in summer capital Srinagar as Katrina arrived at the sets wearing a burqa in typical Kashmiri style in the morning. 

The movie is running behind schedule, as it was scheduled to hit the floor last year, sources in the film unit said. "The film unit has been in the Valley for the last three days and we are working overtime to complete the shooting schedule," a source said.

Fitoor is not only the first Bollywood movie being shot in Kashmir after last year's floods, but it is also the first to be shot here this year. The arrival of the Fitoor film unit is believed to be a good omen for this year's tourist season in Kashmir.

Bollywood and Kashmir have had an intimate and mutually beneficial relationship for decades since 1960s. This was interrupted due to the separatist violence in the Valley that started in early 1990s.

As the situation improved over the years, Bollywood has again returned to its choice locations in Kashmir. Bollywood blockbusters of bygone years like Shammi Kapoor and Saira Bano's Junglee, Shammi-Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore romantic bonanza Kashmir Ki Kali, Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini's super hit Andaz and Yash Chopra's Silsila are some of the memorable films those were shot in Kashmir.

Residents of old city Srinagar had obliged David Lean when he made requests over the local media asking residents in old city Srinagar to bring down terrestrial TV antennae from rooftops for a day since EM Forster's novel, A Passage to India is about India in the 1920s.

Hawaizaada to be Tax-Free in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to exempt upcoming Bollywood movie Hawaizaada from entertainment tax.

The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, an official spokesperson said.

Hawaizaada is directed by Vibhu Puri and features actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Sharda in pivotal roles.

The film is based on the life of scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade who is credited to have constructed India's first unmanned plane. The film is scheduled for release on January 30.
