Angelina Jolie Meets ISIS Victims in Refugee Camp.

Actress-director Angelina Jolie, who is also the UN refugee agency's special envoy, met survivors of ISIS attacks in northern Iraq.
The 39-year-old visited a refugee camp in northern Iraq on Sunday as she is on an official two-day United Nations trip to the autonomous Kurdistan region of the country, reports eonline.com.

On Sunday, she travelled to the Khanke camp, which was set up in December 2014 and hosts displaced Iraqis who fled after surviving kidnappings and other attacks by jihadists from the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

"Children whose parents were murdered and are now here unaccompanied - a 19-year-old working and being the sole provider for his seven siblings," Angelina said, according to the United Nations.

"I have met mothers whose children have been kidnapped by ISIL. As a parent, I couldn't imagine a greater horror. They are overwhelmed by thoughts of what is happening to their children," the Maleficent actress added.

The actress expressed despair over the sufferings and said: "Too many innocent people are paying the price of the conflict in Syria and spread of extremism".

Angelina, who is married to actor Brad Pitt, also expressed her deepest sympathy to the family of Haruna Yukawa, a Japanese hostage reportedly murdered in Syria on Saturday, and to the families of victims of these extreme acts.

North Korea Asks Cambodia to Ban Screening of The Interview

North Korea has asked the Cambodian government to ban the screening of the US film The Interview, which caricatures North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, arguing that its distribution could harm bilateral relations, South Korean media reported on Monday.

The North Korean embassy in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh sent a note to the Cambodian ministry of foreign affairs to take measures to prevent the distribution of the Sony Pictures Entertainment comedy film, according to public broadcaster KBS.

North Korea argued that the feature film starring Seth Rogen and James Franco is distributed by hostile forces - an apparent reference to the US - and its dissemination could damage relations between North Korea and Cambodia.

The film, in which two Americans pretend to be journalists to assassinate the North Korean leader, is being circulated in Cambodia on the internet and in markets without control, according to Pyongyang's letter to Phnom Penh.

In neighbouring Myanmar, the police - at the request of the North Korean government - began two weeks ago to seize pirated copies of the controversial production which was considered "a declaration of war" by the North Korean regime.

In the case of South Korea, the film is not being distributed in the country to avoid tensions with Pyongyang, and Seoul this month asked anti-North Korean activists to refrain from its plan of sending balloons to the North with copies of the American comedy.

The US blamed North Korean hackers of carrying out the cyber-attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment in November and the White House has raised the possibility of including North Korea once again in the list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

This is How Dakota Johnson Plans to Cope With Fifty Shades of Grey Fame

Actress Dakota Johnson is planning to take a year off after the release of Fifty Shades of Grey.

The 25-year-old actress, who appears on the cover of Vogue's February 2015 issue, feels her life will change drastically post the release of the erotic drama.

"I think about my dwindling anonymity, and that's really scary because a very large part of me would be perfectly happy living on a ranch in Colorado and having babies and chickens and horses-which I will do anyway," she said.

"It's just the most insane thing to be a part of. I've never experienced anything like this; I don't think anyone has. It's terrifying-and it's exciting."

The actress, however, is not too worried about landing her next role as she wants to take some time off before embarking on anything new.

"(I'll) do a bit of press for Fifty Shades of Grey, and then I'm just going to take the rest of the year off. I want to hang out with my friends. I want to hang out with my family-well, I sometimes want to hang out with my family!" Dakota said.

Talking about the movie adaptation of E L James' novel, where she stars opposite Jamie Dornan, the actress said, "It looks beautiful. I've never seen anything like it. But it's confusing to the brain; I still can't look at it objectively or wrap my head around it. The parts of the movie that are difficult to watch were even more difficult and emotionally taxing to shoot."

Mark Wahlberg's Victim in Racist Attack Doesn't Think he Should be Pardoned

A victim of one of actor Mark Wahlberg's racially motivated attacks as a teenage delinquent in racially divided Boston in the 1980s insists he shouldn't be granted a pardon for his crimes.

Kristyn Atwood was among a group of mostly black fourth-grade students on a field trip to the beach in 1986 when Mark and his white friends began hurling rocks and shouting racial epithets as they chased them down the street.

"I don't think he should get a pardon," Kristyn, now 38 and living in Georgia, said in an interview with The Associated Press.

"I don't really care who he is. It doesn't make him any exception. If you're a racist, you're always going to be a racist. And for him to want to erase it I just think it is wrong," she said.

Mary Belmonte, the white teacher who brought the students to the neighborhood beach that day, sees things differently. "I believe in forgiveness," she said. "He was just a young kid - a punk - in the mean streets of Boston. He didn't do it specifically because he was a bad kid. He was just a follower doing what the other kids were doing."

The 43-year-old former rapper, Calvin Klein model and Boogie Nights actor wants official forgiveness for a separate, more severe attack in 1988, in which he assaulted two Vietnamese men while trying to steal beer. That attack sent one of the men to the hospital and landed him in prison.

Mark, in a pardon application filed in November and pending before the state parole board, acknowledges he was a teenage delinquent mixed up in drugs, alcohol and the wrong crowd. He points to his ensuing successful acting career, restaurant ventures and philanthropic work with inner city youths as evidence he's turned his life around. "I have apologised, many times," he told the AP in December. "The first opportunity I had to apologise was right there in court when all the dust had settled and I was getting shackled and taken away, and making sure I paid my debt to society and continue to try and do things that make up for the mistakes that I've made."

Court documents in the 1986 attack identify Mark among a group of white boys who harassed the school group as they were leaving Savin Hill Beach in Dorchester, a mixed but racially divided Boston neighborhood that had seen tensions during the years the city was under court-ordered school integration.

The boys chased the children down the street, repeatedly shouting "n-----" and hurling rocks until an ambulance driver intervened. Mark was 15 at the time.

Kristyn says she still bears a scar from getting hit by a rock. No one was seriously injured, but the attack left a lasting impression.

"I was really scared. My heart was beating fast. I couldn't believe it was happening. The names, the rocks, the kids chasing," Belmonte told the AP.

Mark and two other white youths were issued a civil rights injunction: essentially a stern warning that if they committed another hate crime, they would be sent to jail.

In 1988, Mark, then 16, attacked two Vietnamese men while trying to steal beer near his Dorchester home. According to the sentencing memorandum, he confronted Thanh Lam, a Vietnamese man, as he was getting out of his car with two cases of beer. Mark called Lam a "Vietnam f------ s---" and beat him over the head with a wooden stick until Lam lost consciousness and the rod broke in two.

Documents say Mark ran up to another Vietnamese man, Hoa Trinh, and asked for help hiding. After a police cruiser drove past, he punched Trinh in the eye. Later, he made crude remarks about Asians.

Mark ultimately was convicted as an adult of two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, marijuana possession and criminal contempt for violating the prior civil rights injunction. He was given a three-month prison sentence, of which he served about 45 days. Trinh declined to be interviewed by AP, and efforts to locate Lam were unsuccessful.

Judith Beals, a former state prosecutor involved in the cases, said Mark's crimes stand out because he violated the injunction with an even more violent attack on people of yet another race.

"It was a hate crime and that's exactly what should be on his record forever," Kristyn said.

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 SPOILERS: Episode 13 on Hold; Episode 14 to Feature Mrs. Wolowitz's Death

"The Big Bang Theory" is on a break for a few weeks and the 13th episode of the season will not air until 29 January. But when the season returns for its short break, viewers are in for a treat, as they will witness more gems from Sheldon, the character essayed by Jim Parsons.

The 13th episode is titled "The Anxiety Optimization" and it will see the gang helping out Sheldon by increasing his stress levels. As per the synopsis of the episode, "When Sheldon becomes stuck in a rut with his work, the gang tries to help him by raising his stress levels. Howard (Simon Helberg) teases Raj (Kunal Nayyar) with a new game called 'Cinnamon or Emily'."

The 14th episode is going to see Stuart finally reopening the comic book store that was burned down in the season 7 finale. As "Big Bang Theory" fans know, Stuart moved in with Mrs. Wolowitz immediately after that, which did not go down well with Howard, who felt Stuart was coming in between him and his mother.

But in "The Comic Book Store Regeneration" Howard will receive a shocking news that his mother has passed away. This episode will be a tribute to Carol Ann Susi, who voiced the character of Mrs Wolowitz until her death in November last year.

As per "The Big Bang Theory" wiki, the episode synopsis reads: "Amy is helping Barry Kripke and doing experiments on her friends. Stuart reopens his comic book store, while Howard gets the news of the death of his mother."

Mrs. Wolowitz passes away while visiting Florida, and Sheldon will be a source of support for Howard through these trying times. When the gang goes over to console Howard, everyone expects Sheldon to say something inappropriate. Instead, he comments: "When my father died, I didn't have any friends to help me through it. But you do."

"It took us a couple of months to deal with that; we didn't know how to at first...We thought we handled it in a delicate and respectful way. We lost somebody in our family; it's not something you anticipate happening,"  USA Today quoted executive producer Chuck Lorre as describing the episode.

Oscar Predictions: Expect to See Birdman, Boyhood on Nominee List

Award season is in full swing in Hollywood, but the nominations for the biggest awards, the 87th Academy Awards, are still awaited.

The nominees for Oscars will be announced this evening.

Trade analysts, punters and experts are already betting on who they think would sweep the nominations tally and the unanimous vote goes toBirdman, who they feel, is likely to belt nine nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Michael Keaton, who has already mounted the Golden Globe for Best Actor - Comedy/Musical on his shelf.

The other two films likely to dominate the nominations are Boyhood, which win the Golden Globe for Best Picture - Drama, and The Imitation Game, categories including the Best Picture and Best Director.

Many hopes are pinned on actor Benedict Cumberbatch to bag a nomination in the Best Actor category for The Imitation Game, as is Eddie Redmayne who won the Globe for Best Actor - Drama for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. David Oyelowo is also considered a sure shot for his turn as Martin Luther King, Jr in Selma.

The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was named Best Picture - Comedy/Musical at the Globes, and Whiplash are likely to be up for six awards, while The Theory of Everything and Selma will contend five times each.

The likely nominees for the Best Actress category include Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything, Jennifer Aniston for Cake, Reese Witherspoon for Wild and Amy Adams who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress - Comedy/Musical for Big Eyes. Spoiler alert - don't be surprised if Julianne Moore takes home the golden man. She did, after all, win the Globe for Best Actress - Drama.

The Oscar ceremony will be held on February 22 - that's early morning the next day for India.
